Chris, how long have you been in show business?

I started as a kid. My dad brought me to my first audition when I was 10. Then I started working professionally in New York City after I graduated from NYU. I’ve been doing it ever since.

Are you based in L.A. now?

Yeah, I really like it out here. When I have down time I head up to Malibu and hang out at the beach.

What are some of your career highlights so far?

The best thing was playing Pepper in Mamma Mia on Broadway. That was definitely great. Also, doing my first movie, House of the Dead 2, that was released on DVD. It was a zombie film.

Did you get eaten?

I did get zombified. It was a cool film.

I've seen you in quite a few shows. You seem to work constantly. Are you one of those lucky actors who doesn’t have to keep a day job?

I’ve been lucky to not have to do that. I’ve kept myself busy doing TV, films, and theater. This summer I’m going to be teaching at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in West Hollywood.

Do you prefer one medium over another?

Live theater is so different than TV and film because there’s no cut, no stopping. It’s good practice for the TV and film world. I really enjoy all of it and am so lucky to have a chance to do it all.

Tell me about your latest show The Id and Bob?

It’s a comedy about a guy named Matt, who’s looking for love in New York City. He’s set up on a blind date with a guy named Bob and things get interesting when he falls for my character Tom, Bob’s presumably straight roommate. Hilarity ensues.

How’s the show going so far?

Very well. It’s a good comedy and there are a lot of laughs. There’s something for everyone in this show. We just opened and I got a nice write-up in Variety with my photo.

Congrats! What do you have lined up after the run of this show?

I’m going to be playing Chachi in Happy Days at the Falcon Theatre for Garry Marshall Aug. 2-13.
